Performance Notes | Georgia Mancio has won wide critical acclaim and, with her long-standing quartet, performs jazz standards with a rich selection of sounds from Brazil, Chile and Italy.
In less than a decade of professional work, jazz vocalist Georgia Mancio has established herself as one of the UK's most important new artists. She has performed with Bobby McFerrin (2009 Meltdown and 2003 London Jazz Festival), Sheila Jordan and David Linx (Belgium Jazz Festival 2006) & Liane Carroll, Bobby Wellins and Ian Shaw (The True Jazz Voice 2008).
Georgia also won first prize at the 2005 Brussels International Young Jazz Singers' Competition with 4 star live reviews from both The Standard and The Guardian.
For their return engagement at the Cafe Consort, Georgia and her long-standing quartet will be playing material from their critically acclaimed album, Trapeze (2008) and previewing new material from a forthcoming release including songs by Pat Metheny, Chick Corea, Bill Evans, Jobim and Tom Waits. |
