| Performance Notes | A new but rapidly developing project, the Balagan Café Band brings together four of the most exciting musicians on the London music scene. Having played every kind of music from Classical, Tango, Jazz and Early Music through to Gypsy Swing, North African, Folk and Rock, the players aim to combines their influences into a sound that is eclectic yet unified through the initial inspiration of that most innovative and inventive musician, Django Reinhardt. We try and trace some of the lines of his musical ancestory and surprising connections. 2013 has seen the band appear at venues throughout London - members have performed at Ronnie Scotts, Pizza Express and the Purcell Room with some of the country's foremost musicians. |
