Performance NotesOnce again, hundreds of children will gather together for the second of two Barnardo's concerts in 2013.

The World record for the most number of people playing ocarinas for more than six minutes was broken at the event. 3,081 players broke the Guinness World Record. Approximately 100 observers were needed throughout the hall to make sure everyone was playing.

The record attempt was staged because 2013 was 50 years of the English 4-hole Ocarina, 30 years of Ocarinas in UK Schools and 25 years of the English Plastic Ocarina. Dudley Associates, UK manufacturers of Rainbow Oc, supplied the ocarinas for the event. Signature Ribbon supplied the ocarina strings. The Schools Music Association partnered the Ocarina Workshop in this World Record Attempt. Music for All helped involve everyone in playing musical instruments. Douglas Coombes MBE arranged "Ode to a Joyful New Star" which was played for the record.

The event was filmed by Black Swan Video for a DVD.
