Performance Notes10 year-old Megan Adams, a member of the Poppy Girls, was overwhelmed by emotion when her Royal Navy officer father, Lieutenant Commander Billy Adams, emerged from the crowd in full uniform as a surprise for his daughter's performance at the Festival. Megan burst into tears when concert host Huw Edwards revealed the special guest. She shouted "daddy" and rushed towards her father for an emotional embrace.

The event was attended by Prime Minister David Cameron accompanied byhis wife Samanatha Cameron.

The Lady Elton, Rear Admiral Simon Williams and Commander Andrew Canale were seated in the Royal Box.
