Performance NotesThe Royal British Legion welcomed member sof the Royal family, government ministers and the public to join in an annual Festival of Remembrance, in honour of those who have given their lives in Service of their country.

The Processional Cross carried was made for the Reverend Sandy Reynolds who landed on Gold Beach on D-Day +2. The Cross was made by a small group of Sappers at Ver-sur-Mer, near Arromanches, from a sheet of German copper basing the design on the Norman Cross in the local church. It was subsequently used as an altar cross during the French and German Campaigns before being made into a processional cross.
