Main Performers | Akala, Stephen Frost, Francesca Beard |
Performance Notes | Tongue Fu, one of Londons liveliest spoken word nights, returns to the Elgar Room. A riotous experiment in live literature, music, film and improvisation, it is surprising, sometimes hilarious, often poignant and always unrehearsed. The evening's headliner is MOBO Award-winning hip hop artist Akala performing a spoken word set. Fusing rap/rock/electro-punk with fierce lyrical storytelling, Akala has also developed a reputation for stellar live performances with his drummer Cassell 'TheBeatmaker'. The evening also features comedian and spoken word performer Stephen Frost (Whose Line Is It Anyway?, Have I Got News For You, Never Mind the Buzzcocks); performance poet and musician Chris Redmond; one of Europe's leading poets, Francesca Beard; and the Tongue Fu band. |
