Performance Notes | Darius Brubeck (piano), Paul Greenwood (saxophone & flute), Matt Ridley (bass) and Wesley Gibbens (drums) Darius Brubeck was, until 2006, the internationally known Director of the Centre for Jazz and Popular Music (Durban, South Africa). He now travels between Europe and the USA and his performance repertoire includes original compositions, standard jazz and South African music. While a student at Trinity College, London, Matt Ridley won many performance prizes and played in numerous bands, including the UK National Youth Jazz orchestra. Both Ridley and Gibbens are featured on Darius' cd, "For Lydia and the Lion". South African Wesley Gibbens (based in London) plays with a number of mainstream jazz and African music groups and frequently records as a session musician. Paul Greenwood was a member of the UK National Youth Jazz Orchestra and tours with the successful fusion band, "Incognito".
The Hall's Verdi Restaurant re-opened on Sunday 30 March 2014 after complete refurbishment - this was the first event in the new space. |
