Performance NotesThe life of film legend Sir Michael Caine will be celebrated in a special night at the Royal Albert Hall in aid of the NSPCC.

Presenter and film buff Jonathan Ross will interview the two-time Oscar winner live on stage as we look back on his incredible career and enduring popularity, with clips on screens above the stage and music from his best-known films being played live by the London Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Gavin Greenaway.

Stars from across the film and music worlds will be present to celebrate the British icon, with singers Joss Stone and Lance Ellington delivering performances of songs from Alfie, The Italian Job and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.

All profits from the evening will go directly to the NSPCC, a charity very close to the actor's heart:
"When I was a little boy I was evacuated for a couple of weeks and I was very ill-treated, so I’ve always wanted to help children and I’m happy to support the NSPCC. I am thrilled to be appearing at the iconic Royal Albert Hall to hear music from some of my films, including scores by my friends Hans Zimmer and John Barry" Sir Michael Caine

Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon introduced the event from the gallery. The event was attended by Andrew Lloyd Webber (composer), Joan Collins (actress), Simon Pegg (actor), Jerry Hall (model), David Walliams (comedian), and Sir Roger Moore (actor).

The event raised £75,000 for the NSPCC.

A red carpet was staged in the West car park for VIP guests entering via Door 6.

Sir Michael Caine was interviewed by BBC Newsnight in the Prince of Wales Room at 15:00.

The event was filmed by Metropolis Music for their archive.
