Performance NotesAfter this event the Hall was closed briefly, due to damage to the building, caused by a bomb which landed Hyde Park at the top end of Exhibition Road. An unexploded bomb was removed from Albert Hall mansions on 28 February 1944.

M Gusev, the Russian Ambassador, and Madame Gusev were with Mr Morrisson, the Home Secretary in the Royal Box.

An ode was written specially by the Poet Laureate.
