Performance Notes	'There was a great rally of the forces of Labour in the Albert Hall last night, when the party opened its General Election campaign. The Labour Members of Parliament who favour a continuation of allegiance to a Coalition Government were absent, but there was considerable opposition. It was so pronounced at first that it was only with the greatest difficulty that speakers obtained a hearing. Interruptions came form both the extreme socialist and the supporters of the Coalition. There was a pronounced 'Bolshvist' element in the assembly. Loud cheering greeted the exhibition in various parts of the building of such mottoes as "Hands off Russia" and "Release John McLean and all the political prisoners" and "The Red Flag" and similar songs were sung with great fervour." (The Times, 15 November 1918) The outcome of the meeting was to abandon the coalition and enter the next Election as a free and independent party. This meeting caused such concern at the Hall, that they attempted to cancel the next Labour party meeting scheduled for the 23 rd November 1918.
