Performance NotesThe event was attended by delegates and representatives from over forty countries. Scientific sessions as well as more general meetings took place. Meetings were not open to the public but they were to journalists so that there was an opportunity for questions to be asked and discussion could take place. Sets were designed by Franco Zeffirelli.
