Performance Notes | Stanley Poulton's demonstration: "'I have a lady here, looking for Olive,' said Poulton. There were a number of claimants. 'It's her birthday today,' the medium added. Miss Ruby Davies was quick to acknowledge to communicator. 'Who's Olive?' asked Poulton. 'My sister.' 'And it's your mother's birthday today?' - 'Yes.' 'Then it's you I want. Who is Liz?' - 'Her sister-in-law.' 'Coming back to Olive, has there been a health worry there?' - 'Yes.' The two-world dialogue continued as Mrs Davies sent her birthday message of love and a promise of help for Olive. ... The medium told Ruby Davies her mother was often with her and watched changes in the home. She was pleased with them. 'She's telling me she has even seen what has been done below the floorboards,' said Poulton looking puzzled. Ruby laughed a nodded. 'Are you two together?,' the medium asked pointing to a woman seated on Miss Davies' right. She said they were. 'And do you know about the floorboards coming up?' She did 'Thank goodness for that!' said Poulton in mock relief and with typical humour. 'Your mother is telling me she made a special effort today, her birthday, and she knew you wouldn't forget it,' said Poulton ... 'Who's Lily?' he asked - 'That is my mother.'" "A house featured prominently in a message, through Poulton to Mrs Eileen McKenna... She told him she recognised the name Violet Holmes he gave. She understood the reference to a book which had been marked and admitted there was a problem involving a house. 'Violet Holmes is in the spirit world,' said Poulton, ensuring he had the right recipient. Mrs McKenna agreed. 'And who is Fred?' Poulton asked. 'My brother.' ... A secret service agent featured in another dramatic spirit message. Mrs Irene Higgs... told Poulton she recognised a communicator as a relative who passed during World War II. He had not died in uniform, but was 'working for peace in war' ..."
Nora Blackwood's demostration: "Only one recipient responded to Nora Blackwood when she asked if anyone knew the name Steffen. 'It's a surname,' said the medium. 'and I have a mother here.' A man, four rows from the platform, raised his hand. 'Is there a German or Austrian link?' Nora asked. Klaus Steffen said there was. ... 'Turning to Klaus' wife, Joyce, Nora asked, 'Do you know a Ken in the spirit world?' She said she did. 'Isn't he a brother?' He is. ...
