Performance NotesFirst NME concert at the Royal Albert Hall.
NME artist David Kemp designed special crowns for the give Poll Winners made of gilt metal with each of the points in the form of a quaver, and five bands (representing a mucial stave) round the base. The crowns rested on a velvet, tasslled cushion mounted on a wooden base with an inscription.
Film stars Scott Brady and MaryCastle presented awards as they wer ein the UK to film 'Three Steps to the Gallows'.
According to NME 7,500 people packed into the Hall for the concert (NME, No.328, 24 April 1953)
