Performance Notes | International sports awards ceremony with attendance from some of the biggest names of the past, present and future in sport. A committee of journalists from 30 countries nominated five male and female achievers from each category from a shortlist of 260. The winners were selected by a jury chaired by International Olympic Committee (IOC) president Juan Antonio Samarancg and including Mushammad Ali, Bobby Charlton, Wayne Gretzky, Steffi Graf and Mark Spitz.
The event was recorded by Global Live Transmission and broadcast on Sky television.
John McEnroe admitted afterwards that his guitar was plugged in but the Amp was not turned on!
Guests included Michael Johnson, Marion Jones, Lennox Lewis, Chirs Eubank and Jimmy Hill.
This was the final live performance by All Saints who on 26 February 2001 declared they were taking a break in and cancelling their British and European tour. The members had insisted on two dressing rooms when at the Hall. |
