Performance Notes
The event was recorded and released on vinyl by Delyse Recording Company as 'A Nation Sings - Five Thousand Voices at the Royal Albert Hall - The World's Greatest Ever Gaymanfa Ganu, Welsh Hymn Singing Festival'.
This was a "Gymanfu Ganu" - or "singing together" - a traditional Welsh event attended by Welsh men and women from all parts of Britain. Famous vocalists Geraint Evans and David Hughes were in the audience. Hundreds of singers were guided to "action stations" by placrad announcing sopranos, altos, tenors and basses.
