Performance Notes | "MUSIC LEFT ON 'BUS. Audiences at concerts at the Albert Hall and the Covent Garden Opera House were kept waiting yesterday afternoon owing, in one case to the loss of music, and in the other to the indisposition of the conductor. At the Albert Hall 8,000 people waited to hear Yehudi Menuhin, the 21-year-old violinist, give a recital. An announcement was made from the platform that, two hours before the concert was due to begin, a quantity of the accompanist's music had been left on an omnibus on Route 73. An appeal to the audience resulted in accompanist copes of four of the items being provided, but six could not be played. Others were substituted. Scotaldn Yard detectives, with officials of the Albert Hall and London Transport, so-operated in the hunt for the missing music. 'Buses on the No.73 route were stopped and searched, but to no avail."
