"...The encores were many. After three had been given, the audience still clamoured in spite of the very significant shake of the head with which Mr McCormack signified his determination to sing no more - before the next group was due. The audience shoudl have taken the hint, of course. But the singer's encores included some of the finest songs - the "Londonderry Air," Bantock's "Never tell your Love," and finally Dunhill's lovely setting of a poem by Yeats..."
