Performance NotesMalcolm Sargent described conducting this concert as 'very trying' owing to the fact that earlier in the day his case, containing his score, morning coat, and batons were stolen from his car in St James's Street whilst he was lunching. He had to wear a normal jacket, use the score of a violin part and wield a borrowed baton to conduct. (The Daily Telegrapg, 20 January 1930).
