Biography Trevor Harvey (1911-1989) was assistant Chorus Master at the BBC between 1935 and 1942, established his own St Cecilia Orchestra, conducted the British Youth Symphony Orchestra (1960-72), and was Associate Conductor of the Henry Wood Promenade Concerts between 1949 and 1952 and with the Robert Mayer Children’s Concerts (1951-73). He was especially concerned with the music of Benjamin Britten. He was responsible for some incidental music for radio and published songs for solo voice (e.g. The Sailor’s Carol) and chorus (e.g. Sing Hosanna (1938), an eight part carol) and Jonah and the Whale, an "entertainment" for junior chorus, audience, piano and optional instruments.
