Pamela Bowden (17 April 1925, Rochdale, Lancashire, England - 8 April 2003) was a British mezzo-soprano. Following the untimely death of Kathleen Ferrier in 1953, Bowden was designated one of her successors among British mezzo-sopranos. If she never quite lived up to that impossible title, she made a mark in her own right as a singer of undoubted discernment, with a mellow timbre and an attractive personality. Although she appeared occasionally in opera, the main thrust of her career was in recital and oratorio.
