People Open DS/UK/11337 Bob and Marion Konyot (fl 1950s) Bob and Marion Konyot fl 1950s American-Hungarian comedy dance team Group (Mixed) United Kingdom (formed) Hungarian American Variety; Dance / Comedy Members: Bob Konyot (3 April 1915, Budapest -2000) Marion Olive (25 May 1925, Seattle, Washington, United States-26 June 2011) Past Members: Elizabeth Konyot Bob Konyot had begun his circus career at the age of six as a bareback rider and by the time he was 20 in 1935 was part of a well-known Hungarian springboard acrobatic act, the Gondor Magyar troupe. Bob went on to form the Konyots with his sister Elizabeth, based around the concept of an artist painting his model – a burlesque number which combined acrobatics and adagio dancing. Marion Olive began her performing career young. By the 1940s she was signed up by Albert Sutan (later known as Hal Monty). She embarked on a solo musical act, playing the accordion and saxophone across Britain. She went on to join an all-girl band known as the Four Smart Girls. Bob and Marion married during the war in 1945. The couple continued the Konyots variety and toured the world, from Hong Kong to Las Vegas.
