Dave ”Gypsy” Douglas, of Larkhall, held the Scottish welterweight boxing crown until he lost to Gary Jacobs in 1987. Earlier, he had been the first for about 50 years to successfully defend the title. Following competitive boxing, he became a trainer. Born on 2nd July 1956 in Bellshill, Scotland, he was the son of Charlie Douglas.
