Terry James PhD, B.Mus, LRAM, was born in Kidwelly and studied at University College Cardiff and the Royal Academy of Music, London. Guido Cantelli arranged for Terry to study with him in Italy. Terry established himself as a conductor in Wales and went on to build a reputation across Europe's opera houses and concert halls.
