Kenneth Riegel (* April 29 1938 in West Hamburg , Berks County , Pennsylvania ) is an American tenor. As a singer Kenneth Riegel went for more than 30 years at the Metropolitan Opera in New York City , at the Paris Opera , in Rome , at the Vienna State Opera , in Boston , and New York. In Paris he took in the premiere of the three-act version of Alban Berg's opera Lulu the role of Alwa, which he later also sang at the Metropolitan Opera. In 1983 he sang the role of Paris in Leper in the premiere of Olivier Messiaen's opera "St. Francois d'Assise“.
