Sam Riviere was born in 1981, and began to write poems while at the Norwich School of Art and Design. He completed his MA at Royal Holloway in 2006. He co-edits the anthology series Stop Sharpening Your Knives, and is currently working towards a PhD at the University of East Anglia. A recipient of a 2009 Eric Gregory Award, he was recently selected for the Faber New Poets scheme.
