There he formed his first band that he called Santiago , and in which he played singer and drummer. His first single "New Guitar" reached number four on the German RTL charts. In 1980 the band won the "Deutsche Schallplatten Preis" the Grammy from Germany with their album "Walking The Voodoo Nights".
