Music Group; Choir The Adventist Vocal Ensemble, also known as AVE, is a British sacred music session choir which appears regularly on British television. It was founded in 2002 by choral composer and conductor Ken Burton. It is not a choir of fixed membership, but is tailored in terms of size and composition according to event. Its singers are mostly current or former members of two of Britain's premier gospel choirs, The Croydon Seventh-Day Adventist Gospel Choir and The London Adventist Chorale. The choir was formed in order to fill a gap in the UK media world. Session choirs tend to be composed of either proficient music readers from a Classical background, or essentially non-music readers from a pop or gospel-based background. The Adventist Vocal Ensemble is designed to cover both worlds: the free nature and stylistic characteristics of gospel and pop sung by singers who were able to read competently and have a wide experience in several musical styles including Classical, Jazz, and gospel, and know how to perform them all competently. The sound the choir makes encompasses the various colours of choral singing.
