People Open DS/UK/16893 The Gojos (fl 1960s) The Gojos fl 1960s British female dance troupe The Gojos were the first dance group to appear in lieu of promotional films for featured recording artists and appeared sporadically on Top of the Pops for a four year period from 1964-1968 including its move from Manchester to London. The Gojos were formed by ex-Beat Girl Jo Cooke following her departure from that group who had appeared regularly on the BBC television series the Beat Room.
