Education; School Sensory disability Founded in 1872 by Principal Dr F J Campbell, who ws himself blind. The purpose was to educate and train blind students to render them independent and useful members of the community. The school on average had 150 students who were mainly drawn from the poorest classes. Courses taught a general and muscial education and physical and technical training. The College was equipped with a gymnasia, skating rink, swimming pool, and specially adapted playground.
