A four time Grand-Slam semi -finalist, Sebastien Grosjean will be warmly welcomed back to London for Champions Tennis – a city which has brought him great success in the past. British fans are most likely to remember the Frenchman for his grass court success in 2003 and 2004. In both these years Grosjean reached the final of the Queen’s tournament in London and the semi-final of Wimbledon. However the closest Grosjean ever came to a Grand Slam final was at the 2001 Australian Open, with a two sets to love lead and a match point in the fourth set, he eventually lost a difficult five-setter to countryman Clement. As a junior player Grosjean saw great success, being ranked the No.1 player in the world in both singles and doubles in 1996 – he was the first player to accomplish this feat since Jason Stoltenberg in 1987. It was in 1996 that Grosjean also led France to the Sunshine Cup title (Junior World Team Championship). Grosjean, alongside the French Team, enjoyed great triumph in the Davis Cup. Tallying a 16-9 singles record, he reached three World Group finals in 1999, 2001 and 2002. It was in 2001 that the French team were victorious, defeating Australia by three games to two. Grosjean retired in 2010 and is currently the coach of World No.9 Richard Gasquet.
