baritone Dominic Sedgwick joined the prestigious Jette Parker Young Artist Programme at the Royal Opera from September 2017, having recently graduated from the Guildhall School of Music and Dramas Opera School where he studied with Robert Dean. He previously read Theology at Clare College, Cambridge. 

His roles for the Royal Opera in 2017/18 include his ROH debut as Marullo Rigoletto; Second Nazarene Salome; Moralès in Barrie Kosky's new production of Carmen and Third Ghost Child Coraline (Mark-Anthony Turnage/world premiere at the Barbican Theatre). In July 2018 he will perform in the annual JPYAP Showcase on the ROH stage. 

During his studies, Dominic was a Samling Artist, a Britten Pears Young Artist, an inaugural Drake Calleja Scholar and a recipient of awards from the Help Musicians UK Tutton Awards, the Countess of Munster Trust and the Kathleen Trust. He joined the Glyndebourne Chorus in 2017, also preforming Floras Servant La Traviata and Harlequin (cover) Ariadne auf Naxos, and in March 2017 he created the role of Damyan in the world premiere Julian Philips The Tale of Januarie for GSMD. Other roles include Duke Robert Iolanta, Junius The Rape of Lucretia - both for GSMD Opera; the title role in Owen Wingrave for British Youth Opera at the Peacocke Theatre; Falke Die Fledermaus for Opera Danube and Papageno Die Zauberflöte as a Longborough Festival Young Artist.

Competition successes include the Audience Prize as a finalist of the inaugural Grange Festival International Competition 2017, winning the Three Choirs Felicity Lott Competition, finalist in the Stuart Burrows International Voice Award and semi-finalist at the 2017 Ferrier Awards. Concert highlights include Webers Oberon (Scharasmin), Mozart Mass in C Minor and a recital of Debussy Song for the LSO Guildhall Artist Platform - all at the Barbican Hall; St. Matthew Passion in Bristols Colston Hall with Adrian Partington; St. John Passion with the London Handel Orchestra and concerts for the Three Choirs Festival, St. Johns Smith Square and the London Song Festival.</OtherInfo>
