soprano Christina Gansch was winner of the 2014 Ferrier Award and graduated with distinction from the Mozarteum, Salzburg and the Royal Academy of Music, London.

During her studies Christina had her international operatic debut in Montpellier as Amore in Glucks Orfeo et Euridice (2013) followed by Barbarina in Le Nozze di Figaro at the Theater an der Wien under Nicolaus Harnoncourt (2014). Christina was part of the Hamburgische Staatsoper for three years (2014/16 International Opera Studio, 2016/17 Ensemble) during which she began to build up her international career.

Since then she has debuted at the Salzburg Festival (Young singers project, Barbarina, C minor mass and Servilia), the Berlin Staatsoper (Waldvogel in Siegfried under Daniel Barenboim) and the Opera National de Paris (Papagena in Die Zauberflöte) as well as recording Zerlina in Don Giovanni with Teodor Currentzis for Sony Classical.

As part of the Ensemble of Hamburgische Staatsoper she performed as Pamina Die Zauberflöte, Gemmy Guillaume Tell, Constance Dialogues des Carmélites and Almira Almira. With Hamburgs General Musical Director, Kent Nagano, Christina performed Brahms Ein Deutsches Requiem, Ilia in Idomeneo and Bachs St Matthew Passion.

2017/18 marked Christinas first season as a freelance artists, beginning with Servilia in the exceptional production of `Clemenza di Tito ´ at the Salzburg Festival with Teodor Currentzis and Peter Sellars. Other highlights of the season include Marzelline at the Hamburgische Staatsoper, `Human Requiem ´ at the Adelaide Festival with the Berliner Rundfunkchor as well as Mélisande in a new production of `Pelléas et Mélisande ´ with Stefan Herheim and Robin Ticciati at Glyndebourne Festival Opera.

In 2018/19 the young soprano is looking forward to her American debut with San Francisco Opera as Dorinda in `Orlando ´. Further operatic projects see Christina returning to Hamburgische Staatsoper as Gretchen in Schumanns `Faustszenen ´ with Christian Gerhaher as Faust, as well as appearances at The Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. Concert performances include her debut at the Mozartwoche in Salzburg in `Davide Penitente ´ and Mahlers 4th Symphonie with Teodor Currentzis and the SWR Symphony Orchestra.</OtherInfo>
