by The Times as a charismatic virtuoso, Tabea Debus is constantly exploring the horizons of music for recorder and has performed widely in Europe, Singapore, Japan, Malaysia and the USA.

Highlights include concerts at Wigmore Hall, the Resonanzen Festival at the Konzerthaus in Vienna, the Schleswig Holstein, Edinburgh International, Brecon Baroque, Musica Antiqua Bolzano, Baroque at the Edge, the London Baroque, Brighton and York Early Music Festivals. She has collaborated with Iestyn Davies, Rachel Podger, Richard Egarr, Lawrence Cummings, the Dunedin Consort, The English Concert in performances of Handels Rinaldo and La Serenissima, among many others. She was selected by Young Classical Artists Trust (YCAT) in May 2018.

As a soloist Tabea has appeared with the English Chamber Orchestra at Cadogan Hall, Chartwell Sinfonia at St. Johns Smith Square, WDR Rundfunkchor at the Funkhaus in Cologne and with Camerata Zurich at the Tonhalle in Zurich. In 2018 she released her third solo CD featuring twelve newly commissioned pieces based around Telemanns XXIV Fantasie per il Flauto (TYXart) and she has appeared live on BBC Radio 3s In Tune and Early Music programmes.

Born in Würzburg in Germany in 1991, Tabea studied at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts (HfMDK) with Professor Michael Schneider and the Royal Academy of Music in London with Pamela Thorby, graduating with distinction and the Principals Prize. She went on to be appointed a Meaker Fellow during the 2016/17 season. She was a St Johns Smith Square Young Artist (2015-16), a Handel House Talent Artist (2016-17), a City Music Foundation Artist (2016-2018) and has received scholarships from the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben, the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the Studienstiftung des Deutschen Volkes.

During her studies Tabea won 1st Prize in the 2014 International Johann Heinrich Schmelzer and 2011 International Hülsta Woodwinds Competitions and 2nd Prize at The Arts Club  Sir Karl Jenkins Music Award. As a founder member of the ensemble tr!jo with Lea Rahel Bader (viol da gamba) and Johannes Lang (harpsichord) she also won top prizes at the XVIII Biagio-Marini (2017) and international Berlin Bach (2015) Competitions.</OtherInfo>
