British Unknown Rosabel Watson was an outspoken campaigner for women's musical rights. By working with and for other women, she created a lasting and vibrant professional musical career. Rosabel Watson's Aeolian Ladies' Orchestra frequently played for such occasions, including a suffragist banquet chaired by Millicent Fawcett in 1906. Rosabel Watson and Annie Mukle became joint proprietors of Beauchamp Lodge in Paddington, a boarding house for unmarried women (in the early 1900s). Many of the lodgers were music students. Watson and Mukle also lived together in Maida Vale until Mukle's death.
