She won a scholarship to study at the Royal College of Music, where she met her husband Walter Hyde. As well as being a soprano of her own merit, she was also a vocal teacher at London's Guildhall School. Whilst at RCM, she performed Wagner's 'Die Fliegende Hollander' in 1898 and Mozart's 'Die Zauberflote' the following year. She was also part of the musical line up for the opening of the Promenade Pier in Dover in July 1901. She sang 'Husheen', 'Who'll Buy My Lavender,' and 'Down the Vale.'
