Other operatic engagements include Madama Butterfly (Opera North), Rigoletto, The Abduction from the Seraglio, Strausss Wiener Blut, Peter Brooks La Tragedie de Carmen and Eugene Onegin (English Touring Opera), Massenets Cendrillon, Brittens The Rape of Lucretia and a double bill of Waltons The Bear and Berkeleys A Dinner Engagement for Royal Academy Opera and The Marriage of Figaro and The Barber of Seville, both for Savoy Opera, where he was Head of Music.
Concert work includes Dvorak's New World Symphony with the RPO and an opera gala with the Philharmonia at the Cheltenham Festival, where he has also conducted Carmina Burana. He also conducted the RPO in the Waterloo Bi-centenary concert at the Royal Albert Hall. Recordings include Puccini arias with the Philharmonia for Chandos Opera in English series and Alfie Boes debut album with the Brno Philharmonic.
Future conducting work includes Don Pasquale and Madama Butterfly for Glyndebourne Tour and Rimsky-Korsakovs May Night for Royal Academy Opera.
As an accompanist Gareth has appeared at all the major London venues and throughout Europe and the USA. In addition he has appeared at many festivals including Cheltenham, Harrogate and Barmouth. He has also broadcast on BBC Radio 3, Radio France and Classic FM.
He was made a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Music in 2014.
