Pinheiro, a London based tenor, was born in Braga, Portugal. 

He completed his Degree in Music Teaching (Singing) at the University of Aveiro, under the tuition of Antonio Salgado and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Concert Singing at Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama with Peter Alexander Wilson, where he took part in Masterclasses with such names as Malcolm Martineau. 
Leonel Pinheiro recently graduated with distinction from the Opera Course at Guildhall School of Music &amp; Drama where he studied with Susan McCulloch. His studies where kindly supported by the Worshipful Company of Saddlers, the Roseberry Scholarship, the Blanch Gertrude Lynch Memorial Scholarship and the Music Students' Hostel Trust. 

Through his Guildhall Artist Fellowship, Leonel Pinheiro was a guest teacher of singing at City University of London and a Learning Repertoire Coach at Guildhall School of Music &amp; Drama. 

Leonels operatic roles include: Billy in Kurt Weill's Mahagonny Songspiel, (F.O. Aveiro/António Saiote), Monostatos in Mozart's Die Zauberflote (U. Aveiro), Son II in Kurt Weill's Die Sieben Todsunden (U. Sheffield/James Holmes), Pluton in Offenbach's Orphee aux Enfers (U. Aveiro), 1st Commissary in Poulencs Les Dialogues des Carmelites (RSAMD), Clem/Alfred on Brittens The Little Sweep (AIYF/Haddo House), Burgher on Sallinens The King Goes Forth to France (GSMD), Anuchkin in Martinus Marriage (GSMD), Borsa in Verdi's Rigoletto (Clonter Opera), Giovanni D'Aire in Donizetti's L'Assedio di Calais (GSMD), Le Duc in Massenet's Cherubin (GSMD), Don José in Bizet's Carmen (Kentish Opera) Mr. Upfold in Britten's Albert Herring (GSMD), Cover Rodolfo in Puccini's La Boheme (BYO), Cover Cavaradossi in Puccinis Tosca (Grange Park Opera), Kozak in Statkowskis Maria (Wexford Festival Opera), Alfredo in Verdi's La Traviata (European Chamber Opera/Bangkok Grand Opera).
