I defy you not to be mesmerised.” Making extensive use of their own arrangements, alongside vibrant new compositions, entrancing dance rhythms, soulful improvisation and passion delivered with panache and virtuoso technique. Kosmos Ensemble has performed at the UK’s most prestigious music festivals and venues, notably London’s Southbank Centre in the Festival of Britain, Kings Place, the 'Cutting Edge' Series at London’s Institute of Contemporary Arts, Leeds International Concert Season, Oundel, Ryedale, Swaledale, Deal, Wales and Wimbledon International festivals. Special memories include live broadcasts on BBC Radio 3 and Classic FM and a televised performance on a floating platform at the Portello River Festival. Kosmos often collaborates with other artists and composers. Aside from arranging and composing their own music, Robert Fokkens, Nadja-Gabriela Plein, Owen Bourne and Ben Oliver have all written and dedicated music to the group. Collaborations include performances with violist Robin Ireland (Lindsay Quartet), percussionists Guy Schalom and Vasilis Sarikis, rope artist Gisele Edwards, flamenco artists Natalia Huidobro-Garcia and Ulises Diaz, contemporary vocal trio 'juice', and regularly with international prize-winning accordionist Miloš Milivojevic. Outreach work is an integral to Kosmos. As well as working with Yehudi Menuhin's Live Music Now! Scheme, Kosmos has toured Britain working with children with special needs, older people, prisoners and bringing music to anyone with limited or no access to live music. Kosmos has also worked with victims of human trafficking and human rights abuses with the Helen Bamber Foundation.
