He received his training at the Brussels Conservatory from Eugene Goossens and Henri Warmots . He received lessons in music, trumpet, singing and violin. He was briefly a violinist at the Vlaamse Schouwburg in Antwerp. His transition to singing came by chance. In a performance of Frans Ackerman (about Frans Ackerman ) by Karel Miry, one of the lead singers was ill; Blauwaert stepped in.
