As a teenager, she moved to London and sang with the Ambrose Orchestra before joining the Henry Hall Dance Band for his Guest Night radio programmes. When WWII broke out, Eva travelled across Europe on Entertainments National Service Association (ENSA) tours to entertain the troops.
